Italian Silver Tea Strainer

$475.00
  • Brescia, circa 1940
  • Dimensions: 5 7/8 inches length

Antique and vintage Continental Silver Tea Strainers from Northern Italy are highly popular and collectible items. These tea strainers often feature Rococo revival such as highly detailed cherubs, floral motifs, scrolling foliage, and pierced work.

An Italian Silver Tea strainer which is elaborately decorated. The handle is intricately designed with a head of a person surrounded by mythical figures and objects. Adding to this tea strainer is a pierced bowl with decoration on the rim. This unusual design gives the piece a strong presence while retaining its original practical function as a loose leaf tea strainer.

Stamped on the back of the handle ‘800’, the tea strainer has a pleasing weight. We think this tea strainer would be a welcome addition to a curated collection of antique European silver and novelty tableware.
