Pair of American Sterling Silver Sauce Ladles

$650.00 for pair
  • Massachusetts, circa 1905 by Towle Silversmiths
  • Dimensions: 6 inches length

Silver sauce ladles have a long, rich history. In fact, ladles date back to the roman era. Evidence points to sterling silver flatware being first produced in Sheffield, England in the 1200’s. However, sterling silver ladles did not see widespread use until the mid-18th century. This was a result of formal dining habits and complex table settings that were developed in Europe.

An exquisite pair of American Sterling Silver Sauce Ladles in the Benjamin Franklin pattern aka Ben Franklin by Towle. This pattern makes a statement of appreciation for beauty and tradition. This is the perfect pattern for an elegant dinner party. This is due to the classic lines and shell motif which makes this design, a favorite. The shell design is double struck which means that the workmanship is depicted on both the front and the back of the handle.

Our pair of sterling silver sauce ladles are in pristine condition and will be used quite frequently whatever the occasion is!
