A 2 handled Antique George III English Silver Caudle Cup, having a bulbous body. This cup was made for caudle, a drink of warm ale or wine mixed with bread, eggs, and sweetened with sugar, and flavored with spices. Caudle often was prepared for the sick and women in childbirth. This piece is quite simple in design and is a lovely example that was made in the George III era.
