Antique William IV Sterling Silver Mustard Pot

$675.00
  • London, 1837 by Charles Reily and George Storer
  • Dimensions: Mustard Pot - 2 inches tall, 4 inches from handle to widest point Mustard Pot Spoon - 4 1/4 inches length

Mustard dates from the 17th century and was first used as a spice. It was applied in a dry form. Mustard pots though were not produced until the late 18th century and yet mustard as we know it today was not conceived until 1904 in Rochester, New York. Mustard pots today, have a cobalt blue liner (to facilitate cleaning) and a space on the lid to hold a spoon.

An exquisite Antique William IV English Sterling Silver Mustard Pot that is quite elegant in design. It has a thread edge base and a shaped border at the top of the piece. There is also a cobalt blue liner in the interior of the piece.

An Antique Victorian Silver Mustard Pot Spoon made in London in 1854 by George Adams complements this piece quite well. It is also being sold with this article which is always a nice feature.
