American Silver Cake Breakers

$195.00, $250.00
  • Baltimore circa 1940, Rhode Island circa 1920
  • Dimensions: 10 1/2 inches in length, 10 3/8 inches in length

Cake Breakers are wonderful serving pieces and every household is not complete without one. Both of these cake breakers have a sterling silver handle with a silver plate extended tines. These long tines are used to break into a cake prior to the cake being actually sliced and served. This dates back to a time when no dinner table was complete without a lettuce fork, asparagus tongs and a cake breaker.

We are pleased to have 2 American Silver Cake Breakers in our inventory at this time. The Cake Breaker to the left in the photo is a very elegant one in the Queen Anne Williamsburg pattern by Stieff. The other Cake Breaker is in the stylish Buckingham pattern, which began production in 1910. Either one of these American Silver Cake Breakers would make a wonderful addition to your table as well as a great gift.
