American Tiffany and Company Sterling Silver Baby Spoon

$250.00
  • New York, circa 1940 by Tiffany and Company
  • Dimensions: 3 1/2 inches length

The act of giving silver spoons, cups, and other silver gifts for births and christenings go back many centuries. In fact, in the Middle Ages, they were considered symbols of health, wealth, and good fortune and thus, this was a wonderful gift to receive. Silver was also believed to provide protection against disease, probably because silver was presumed to have antibacterial properties.

Our 20th century American Tiffany and Company Sterling Silver Baby/Child Feeding Spoon is very special. It is quite elegant and timeless in design featuring a lovely curved handle which is bent over which creates an unusual design feature. This handle makes it easy for any baby’s little fingers to grip.

Engraving our American Tiffany and Company Sterling Silver Baby Spoon would certainly personalize this piece. What a lovely gift this would be for a newborn baby.
