A waiter is a flat circular piece of silverware that is generally used to serve food and drinks. In general, a waiter has a raised edge to prevent food from falling off of it. Another feature of a waiter is, that it can be decorated with a design or a pattern. This is done to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

A lovely Antique Victorian Plate 8 1/4 inch Round Waiter residing on three ball and claw feet. There is an engraved design which is prevalent throughout the piece including flowers and scrolls. The border also has intricate detail work as well which is a nice feature.
