A waiter is a flat circular piece of silverware that is generally used to serve food and drinks. In general, a waiter has a raised edge to prevent food from falling off if it. Another feature of a waiter is, that it can be decorated with a design or a pattern. This is done to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

A lovely Antique Victorian Plate 8 Inch Round Waiter residing on four ball and claw feet. There is an engraved design which is prevalent throughout the piece including foliate scrolls in the center. The border also has intricate detail work as well which is a nice feature.
