Antique American Silver Mug

An exquisite Antique Early American Silver 19th century Mug. The mug is baluster shaped and quite elegant in style. Although it is very plain in design, there is an acanthus detailed scroll handle which greatly enhances the piece. The mug resides on a pedestal foot. Pieces like this can be sought after and appreciated by a serious collector of American silver or an individual who admires lovely workmanship.

The maker, David Vinton was a Rhode Island silversmith and he is considered an exceptional one. Some of his work can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and the Fowler Museum at UCLA in California.
