English Silver Creamer and Sugar Bowl

Sold
  • London, 1942 and 1943 by Peter Guille Ltd.
  • Dimensions: Creamer - Height - 4 1/2 inches, Spout to handle - 4 1/2 inches Sugar Bowl - Height - 4 3/4 inches

A striking 20th century English Silver Creamer and Sugar Bowl. They are copies of an early George II style.

Both the creamer and the sugar bowl are plain tapering cylindrical form having applied reeded and thread edge borders. They both reside on collet feet. The creamer has a lovely shaped scroll handle and a sparrow – beak spout. The sugar bowl with its removable cover, can be used in its traditional use as well as for nuts, candy and any other condiments.

Both pieces are quite simple and elegant in design and would complement the English Silver 3 Piece Coffee Set which is in our (20th century Sterling Silver Section WP1/PP12) extremely well. Both the 3 Piece Silver Coffee Set and this Silver Sugar and Creamer are made by the same maker. They are quite similar in design as well. To make this set very personal, a monogram can be added to each piece.
