English Silver Plate Coffee Pot

$525.00
  • Sheffield, circa 1920 by F. B. Thomas & Co.
  • Dimensions: 10 1/2 inches in height, 6 1/2 inches from handle to spout

Coffee Pots were specifically designed for the brewing of coffee, featuring an attached lid to help the infusion process. The bottom of the coffee pot would be made wider than the top in order to help catch the sinking coffee grounds; spouts on the side were added for the same purpose. We have to remember at this time (in the 1700s) women were excluded from the nationwide coffee houses. Therefore, coffee by women could only be consumed and enjoyed within the home as part of family life.

A very attractive English Silver Plate Coffee Pot that is an excellent replica of a Georgian style. It has a plain round bellied body and a hinged domed lid residing on a pedestal foot. Our Coffee Pot has acanthus detailing to the spout and is decorated in the highly desirable classic English form.

Our English Silver Plate Coffee Pot is very appealing in design!
