Italian Silver Card Case

Sold
  • Italy, circa 1960
  • Dimensions: 5 1/2 inches height

Introduced in 1961, the Bamboo Pattern was designed by Tiffany’s then-Design Director, Van Day Truex. In 1965, the Bamboo Pattern won the prestigious International Design Award for silver. Its simplicity and character have made it quite popular for modern table settings as well as other items. The thematic reference to 19th century chinoiserie decorations makes this pattern compatible with more traditional settings as well.

A handsome Italian Silver Cigar Case in the bamboo design. It has a gilt interior and is stamped “Tiffany & Co. Sterling 925 Italy” with an Italian national mark. The Cigar Case is quite unusual, is in excellent condition and is a real conversation piece.
