Pair of American Sterling Silver Cartier Baskets

$2,850.00 for pair
  • New York, circa 1950 by Cartier
  • Dimensions: 3 3/4 inches height, 2 3/8 inches wide

Cartier silver was usually made by silversmiths outside of the company for large scale commissions, or individually skilled artisan makers who were able to live up to the brands reputation for both style and quality. Cartier began using retailer’s marks on their silver in the 1860s. The business continued to grow, and Cartier’s success in the early twentieth century meant that the firm found themselves commissioning larger amounts and variations of jewelry, as well as silver and gold items.

A unique and superb pair of Vintage American Sterling Silver Cartier Baskets. They are crafted and handmade from sterling silver into small rectangular woven baskets with straight sides. They have plain rims and fixed c-scroll handles with “stitched” rims and woven strips.

Both of our pair of American Sterling Silver Baskets are marked “Cartier Hand Made Sterling”. They are wonderful pieces to enhance to your Cartier collection or just for display.
