A pair of Antique Victorian Silver Plate Sauce Boats. Initially, sauce boats were supported by a central foot. However, by the mid 1700’s silver sauce boats supported by three feet increased in popularity. It was around that time that English porcelain sauce boats were introduced to complement dinner services, and early factories that produced porcelain sauce boats such as Worcester and Chelsea flourished.

A handsome pair of Antique Victorian Silver Plate Sauce Boats. Wonderful acanthus detailed flying C – scroll handles are on this pair of sauce boats. Residing on three hoof feet helps make them sturdy as well as quite attractive. They feature plain baluster bodies having a Chippendale border.
