There’s nothing quite like antique glass. It combines exceptional craftsmanship, elegance and warmth. There is pleasure in decanting a bottle of wine into a decanter, which could be over two hundred years old. You may also wonder to yourself, who may have used it in the past. Not only do decanters have a sculptural appeal but they also have a purpose. Add to this, their sustainability and it’s easy to see why antique decanters are extremely popular and back in fashion.

The history of decanters goes back to the late 17th century when their original purpose was to serve wine at the table having decanted from the bottle or barrel. When this is done, it made it easier to serve as well as separating the wine from the dregs.

A stunning Antique English Hexagonal Cut Glass Decanter that was made during the English Regency, late Georgian period. Being hexagonal (six-sided) makes this Decanter so interesting and unique in design. Additionally, there is a star cut design on the base of the decanter. Hexagonal in shape, the addition of the star cut design, and fitting perfectly into the decanter, ensures that this is the original stopper.

Our Antique English Hexagonal Cut Glass Decanter is the perfect balance of function and beauty.
