English Silver Plate Salver

The first salvers appeared in the last half of the 17th century. They were small circular trays used as stands for large silver tankards. Salvers from this time period are quite rare. As like so many articles, salvers have evolved over time. A salver is a flat tray without handles and is now used for carrying drinks or food to a table.
An intricate 20th century English Silver Plate Oval Salver. It has an elaborate border and right below that is a pierced design. In the center of this salver is an engraved floral and leaf design.
Our 20th century English Silver Plate Oval Salver is quite attractive and features some lovely detail work. Just like in past generations, drinks could be served nicely on this salver.
