Antique English Pottery Pitcher

Sold
  • England, circa 1820
  • Dimensions: 4 3/4 inches height, 5 1/2 inches end of handle to end of spout

Pottery pitchers come in many colors, shapes, and sizes. In previous generations, no matter what their size was, pitchers were used for holding various types of liquids. Today, only large pitchers are brought to a table and used whereas small pitchers have acquired a different function. Many people today, love to acquire them, form collections and then, show them off.

An elegant and delightful Antique English 19th century Yellow Canary Pottery Pitcher. It combines a classic Regency style with two country pastoral scenes on either side. These engaging and charming scenes make this pitcher delightful. A black line helps define this pitcher and makes it very striking. In pristine condition, the cheerful and vibrant color yellow is sure to bring a warm atmosphere to any interior.

We have left an old price tag (on the outside bottom) from a previous English sale – they were asking 450 pounds. In today’s market that is approximately 600 dollars. Isn’t it nice to know that antiques do increase in value!
