George III Antique English Silver Bowl

Sold
  • London, 1805 by William Fountain
  • Dimensions: 11 1/2 inches from handle to handle, 5 inches in height

A very attractive George III Antique English Silver Bowl. It is quite elaborate in design with floral and scroll decoration which resonates throughout the exterior of the piece. The bowl has exceptional workmanship exemplified with the figural handles which are quite appealing. Residing on a pedestal base, this George III Antique English Silver Bowl has a gilt interior called vermeil (gold wash). Vermeil refers to objects which have a silver core but have been coated with a thin layer of gold foil to give the impression of solid gold.

This Bowl is in pristine condition and can be used either on the center of a table or perhaps on a side table looking lovely as a decorative object.
