Antique George III English Silver Teapot

Sold
  • London, 1782 by Robert Hennell
  • Dimensions: 4 inches tall, 9.5 inches from handle to spout

A very handsome Neoclassical style Antique George III English Silver Teapot. It has an oval straight-sided body with hand-engraved upper and lower bands of floral work. This detail work resonates throughout the body. There is a plain cartouche on one side and on the other side, there is a cartouche with a script monogram within it. The domed lid and the tapering spout also have hand engraved decoration. A wooden scroll handle and oval finial complement the piece. The teapot resides on a flat base.

This Antique George III English Silver Teapot is quite striking in design, lovely in proportion and is in pristine condition. This is a fine example of a George III silver teapot.
