Pair of Italian Sterling Silver Buccellati Oval Bowls

Sold
  • Padova, circa 1960 by Buccellati
  • Dimensions: 6 3/4 inches length, 2 1/2 inches height

A love of tradition, distinctive craftsmanship, elegant inspiration and innovative creativity, distinguishes Buccellati’s style. All of these features remain a point of pride for the family and set this firm apart in the very competitive Italian market. In 1919, Mario Buccellati launched the opening of his first shop in Milan. Quickly, he built a reputation for his richly embossed and finely pierced workmanship. The Buccellati style combines Renaissance period techniques, luxury materials and the extensive use of texture engraving to create objects of great beauty.

In 1951, Mario opened his first store in New York City; today the company operates boutiques worldwide. In 2019, the company celebrated its centennial with a new flagship in Paris and the Vintage collection, which features some of its most enduring designs. Today the Buccellati family is still closely associated to the business even as it is now owned by Richemont, a luxury conglomerate that also has Cartier and Van Cleef and Arpels among its subsidiaries.

Our pair of Italian Sterling Silver Buccellati Oval Dishes are quite stunning in design. They are quite simple but elegant with a thread edge rim at the top. There are 4 rolled petal lobes which are on each dish. On the bottom of each oval base, they are marked “Italy Buccellati Sterling”. Our pair of Oval Dishes are in pristine condition.
