Antique English Mason’s Ironstone Fruit Bowl

Ironstone is a type of stoneware pottery known for its durability and strength. In general, it tends to be heavier than other types of pottery. It was first developed in the 19th century as an alternative to porcelain, which was highly sought after but also expensive and fragile. Ironstone, on the other hand, was more affordable and durable, making it a popular choice for everyday use.
A very rare and wonderful Antique English Mason’s Ironstone Fruit Bowl with an octagonal cut out pedestal base. The design consists of cobalt blue, green, orange, pink and red flowers set on a white background. This floral design is prevalent both on the inside and outside of this piece. There is a blue transfer border which is located on the inside of this bowl. A blue Mason’s mark is located on the outside bottom of the piece which completes the look.
Our 19th century Antique English Mason’s Ironstone Fruit Bowl is exquisite. Whether it stands alone on a table, side board or chest or holding an assortment of fruits, this bowl shows up in a most beautiful way.
