A elegant Antique American Silver Christening Mug. Hand chased with an intricate design of detailed leaves and flowers that resonate throughout the piece, this is a wonderful example of that type of workmanship. It is decagon (10 sided) in shape which is rare to find and thus makes this piece quite special. An elegant loop handle complements this piece quite well. This Antique American Silver Christening Mug is a lovely example of a 19th century piece and is in pristine condition.

The maker, William Thomson (1777 – 1833) was an American silversmith who worked in New York City. His work is collected by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of the City of New York and Winterthur Museum.
