Napkin Rings

First recorded in France around 1800, silver napkin rings quickly became popular items. As dining etiquette became more important throughout Europe, the acceptance of napkin rings spread throughout all of Europe. With the increased wealth of the middle class, they were able to afford luxury items such as sterling silver napkin rings. They became quite popular in the United States as early as 1865.
