American Sterling Silver Bowl

Sold
  • Rhode Island, circa 1940 by Gorham
  • Dimensions: 6 3/8 inches high, 7 3/8 inches diameter

Silver Bowls are extremely popular and every household should have at least one. There are so many uses whether holding fruit, flowers, candy or other things – these are just some of the reasons why one would want to have at least one bowl in their home. Bowls are made in different sizes and shapes and they have one very interesting fact. This fact is that the width of bowls is generally greater than their height. Also, they often reside on small pedestal feet just to raise them off the table.

An attractive American Sterling Silver Bowl in the “Etruscan” pattern. It is both timeless and elegant and features an Art Deco style “Greek Key” design on the circular base. This piece complements engraving quite well. Due to its size, its function would be to hold candy. Yet it could look quite elegant standing on its own.
