Antique Chinese Rose Medallion Creamer

  • China, circa 1840
  • Dimensions: 5 inches tall, 5 inches from end of spout to handle

A wonderful Antique Chinese Rose Medallion octagonal (8 sided) Creamer. It is vibrantly hued with wonderful tones of pinks, yellows, greens, oranges and blues. This creamer is extremely interesting and unusual in design. There are three and 1/2 sides that have a wonderful floral design highlighted with both a butterfly and a bird. On the other 3 1/2 sides, there are two different scenes. The first scene is a man leaning on a window sill talking to another man who looks like he may be his servant. The other scene is a man talking to two women outside. In the middle of this creamer is a floral scene encompassing a gold circle which has floral work within it. This is a typical Rose Medallion design. The rest of the Creamer encompasses lovely painting of floral and fauna. The top edges of the creamer are scalloped and it has a wonderful shaped gilt handle. This Rose Medallion Creamer is in very good condition and it is one of the most interesting pieces that we have acquired in quite some time.
